  1. Mix together the rice and daals in a bowl, wash thoroughly with water 2-3 times until the water runs clear. Leave it to soak in the water for up to 3 hours.
  2. Strain out and drain all the water. Spread the grains on a sheet of cloth or a wide tray and let it air dry under a fan for a minimum of 3 hours. Make sure to give it a stir in between so it can dry evenly. To make sure it has dried well, your best bet is to leave it overnight.
  3. Once completely dry, heat a pan and dry fry all the grains carefully. Make sure not to burn. The aim is to roast the grains well so that we can grind and store it.
